The True "New Orleans Band" Musical Experience!

When Jan & Eric Groh asked us to play for the wedding rehearal dinner they hosted at Antoine's Restaurant last night, we where happy to do so. Because a lot of the guests were coming in from Florida (and some even came from Kenner!), they said "We really want that New Orleans Band sound" for which we were happy to oblige.
The fun really began when Eddie (the head waiter) put on a show presentation of Baked Alaska and Cafe Brulot.
From then on the variety of music covered all genres and the good times rolled! A fun night and special thanks to Robert Maxwell, John Gillis and Mike Loupe; I couldn't have done it without you!

Jimmy Maxwell Orchestra - JMO - Plays For Boomtown Casino

We played for the Gretna Heritage Festival kickoff party last night at Boomtown Casino and performed a wide variety of music. At times the focus was on that New Orleans Band sound and other times, we covered the classic sounds of Motown. Hey! Versatility's the name of the game!

It's the 18th year of the festival and they've been growing steadily. Check out this year's musical lined up for a great list!  Hope to see you there

It's Carnival Time - (Well, Almost!)

It'll be Mardi Gras time in New Orleans before you know it and once again we look forward to playing for the krewes that started it all. From "If Ever I Cease To Love" to "The Grand March of Aida" and from "Mardi Gras Mambo", "Iko Iko" and "Brown Eyed Girl" to "All The Single Ladies" and "Forget You" we'll be covering a wide variety of music.

If you've got a favorite, take a moment and post it here; we'll see if we can add that to this year's playlist!

Happy Mardi Gras!

Jimmy Maxwell

First Time For Everything

Thanks to Robert, we now have a "blog"! So now, the question is, where to start?

Look for future suggestions and ideas for dealing with and producing entertainment based on 30 years in the business. And here's to another 30 years...! Counting Down to midnight at the Waldorf in New York City
